Schedule for 2025-2026
Below you'll find the topics and dates for the next season.
- September 5, 2025: Belgian sparkling wines
"Belbul" is the new brand name for bubbly from Belgium. We'll explore various regions and grapes used to make traditional method sparkling wine in Belgium (NOTE: this topic was moved from last June, so only a few places are available)
- October 17, 2025: Jurançon - aromatic gems from the French South-West
We've had a general tasting of Sud-Ouest wines two seasons ago, but now it's time for a deeper dive into one of the prime AOPs of the area, Jurançon. Not only was it Henry IV's favourite wine, it also offers depth, freshness and complexity to the modern consumer, both in dry and sweet.
- November 14, 2025: Greek food and wine (€95)
For this one we appeal to a few longstanding friends of Mystery Tasting. One to cook for you, and one to initiate us in the secrets of Greek wine. Curious? Book your seat now!
- December 12, 2025: Rioja - anything but red
In the minds of most wine drinkers, Rioja is primarily associated to oaky, aged reds. After our terroir session of last year, time to showcase the rich variety of white and rosado wines!
- January 9, 2026: Blend your own - the white edition
The most fun and engaging session of the year is back! After two years of messing with reds, time to turn to white blends! Less risk of stains on your clothes... Limited to 12 seats.
- February 6, 2026: Faugères, where schist reigns
No season without Languedoc wine... Faugères stands out as the most homogeneous terroir of the region, with schist soils all over the place. But the wine styles produced are very diverse... come and taste one of the older and certainly most revered appellations in the Languedoc.
- March 13, 2026: Douro Valley - beyond port
Our very first Portugal topic in the series! We start with the obvious Douro valley, showing the rise, both in quality and in quantity, of dry white and red wines.
- April 24, 2026: Cool climate Chile
Another novelty: wines from Chile! Cooler conditions can be found either through latitude, altitude or proximity of the Ocean (or a combination of those). Let's discover!
- May 8, 2026: Kamptal - Riesling vs Grüner Veltliner
Austria has risen to fame as one of the top quality wine producing countries in the world. Time to have a closer look at a slightly lesser known, but hugely impressive zone, Kamptal, where riesling and (mainly) Grüner Veltliner compete for top marks.
- June 19, 2026: The Blind Tasting Contest
We close this season with the tried and tested blind tasting, but this time we will only be using wines that have already been tasted in the preceding sessions of the season. Whose olfactive memory works best? We are bound to find out...
Sessions always take place on Friday evenings at 20h in Laeken (Brussels), easily reachable by public transport and close to the R0 and A12. Places are limited to
15 persons per evening... first come, first served! The cost per session is usually
70 euro, except for the food pairing session (
95 euro) and the blending session (
80 euro). The session on Belgian sparkling is cheaper (
35 euro) as part of the wines are sponsored.
If you subscribe for the full series, we apply a discount of 5% (665 instead of 700 euro)
TERMS AND CONDITIONS: the enrolment form is not a guarantee of reservation.
Only when the amount due is paid is your spot secured. Like last year, we will apply a
non-refund policy. Think of it as a concert ticket - of course, if you have booked and paid a session and can't make it yourself, we'll be happy to welcome your friend(s). Plenty of people out there who love fine wine, so that should not be too difficult.
